Hike into the Table Bay Nature Reserve / Woodbridge Island
A crisp  low wind morning provided for an extended training session next to the Diep River and then a short hike into the the Table Bay Nature Reserve. I captured a few birds - mainly spoonbills, grey herons and a sacred ibis.

Ultra Wide-Angle Lenses: Crop vs Full Frame Focal Lengths

Ultra Wide-Angle Lenses: different focal lengths (comparing Crop and Full Frame focal lengths)

On my website I have made two posts from the same Woodbridge Island, Cape Town location for interested photographers looking at wide-angle lenses.

Please note: These posts are not about image quality comparisons, but rather focal length framing when using an APS-C / crop sensor camera and a full frame camera with more / less the same focal lengths.

Shooting Location
Crop and full frame images captured on two different days.

Canon EF-S vs. EF Lens Compatibility
Canon EF-S lenses are not compatible with Canon Full Frame bodies and will only fit / work on Canon APS-C / crop sensor bodies (the little white dot on body and white square on lens). EF lenses are compatible will both Canon APS-C / Full Frame bodies (the little red dot on body and lens - crop bodies will have a red and a white dot to show compatibility with both EF and EF-S lenses).

Wooden Bridge, Woodbridge Island Restoration Update

As far back as December 2015 I started tracking the Restoration of the wooden bridge Woodbridge Island as an intention of the City of Cape Town for starting with the restoration of the wooden bridge, Woodbridge Island

Latest Update: Restoration of the Wooden Bridge (Aug 2019)

In an article in the TableTalk newspaper (20/4/2016) there was an update outlining more detail with regard to the City of Cape Town's restoration planning of the wooden bridge, Woodbridge Island.

TableTalk 18 April 2018 Update
According to the Tabletalk newspaper front page article - Wooden bridge upgrades imminentupgrades to the wooden bridge will begin shortly now that a R20.5 million tender has been awarded to Ruwacon Construction for upgrading the wooden bridge at Woodbridge Island.

The National Department of Transport confirmed to Tabletalk: "Once the restoration work has been completed the (wooden) bridge will provide a fully functional non-motorised transport link between Woodbridge Island and the exisitng cycling and walking lane, and the IRT facilities that run along Marine Drive" (Source: TableTalk 18/4/2018)
