Canon EOS 700D Research
After weeks of research / and some serious deliberation (with the kit lenses) I ordered the new Canon EOS 700D with twin lens kit bundle from my local Canon distributor.

The EOS 700D is Canon's 2013 top of entry range replacement for the 2012 EOS 650D. With closer inspection there is very little difference between the two models. In fact, except for a slightly different body finish, full-rotating mode dial and the new EF-S 18-55mm USM kit lens it is (almost) identical (both with articulated touch-screen LCD). Various other tweaks 'under the hood', but will be discussed at a later stage. The EOS 650D is still available and I doubt it if you would notice any difference in ergonomics, functionality and / or image quality.

EF-S twin lens 18-250mm combined range vs. single EF-S 18-135mm lens
I ordered the Canon EOS 700D camera with the EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5 - 5.6 IS STM and 55-250mm f4/5-5.6 II IS kit lenses bundled with a Canon camera bag and 16GB SanDisk memory card. Another option was the 700D camera body with a separate EF-S 18 – 135mm IS lens. Many people choose the latter for flexibility and to minimize lens changes. My motivation for the twin lens bundle was for image quality and additional optical zoom (up to 250mm versus 135mm).

Excellent Canon packaging
As with all Canon products I have purchased either for reselling or personal use, this product was immaculately packaged, with all components tightly sealed in Canon's familiar and crisp red / white cardboard box packaging.
